If you have decided in favour of a battery storage system or a battery or rechargeable battery-operated product from our range, we are obliged to inform you of the following:
Batteries and rechargeable batteries may not be disposed of with household waste, but you are legally obliged to return used batteries and rechargeable batteries. Batteries may contain harmful substances that can damage the environment or your health if they are not stored or disposed of properly. However, they also contain important raw materials such as iron, zinc, manganese or nickel and can be recycled. You can either send the batteries back to us after use or return them free of charge in the immediate vicinity (e.g. retail outlets, municipal recycling centres or our warehouse). Disposal at points of sale is limited to the usual quantities for end users and to used batteries that the distributor carries or has carried in its range as a supplier.
The symbol with the crossed-out wheelie bin means that you must not dispose of batteries and rechargeable batteries in household waste. Below this symbol you will also find the following symbols with the following meanings
Hg: Battery contains mercury
Cd: Battery contains cadmium
Pb: Battery contains lead
After use, batteries can be returned free of charge to us in Hagen, to retailers or to local authority recycling centres.
We would like to point out that you as the end user are legally obliged to return used batteries.
All batteries are labelled with the crossed-out dustbin symbol.
If certain limit values are exceeded, they are also labelled with the chemical symbols of the metals (Hg= battery contains more than 0.0005% mercury by mass, Cd= battery contains more than 0.002% cadmium by mass, Pb= battery contains more than 0.004% lead by mass).
